JAKARTA – As stated in the mid – term national development agenda, the government has set a target of increasing shrimp exports value of 250% by 2024. As a commitment of business actors to support that target, shrimp industry stakeholders form up to downstream form the Indonesia Shrimp Forum. The forum is targeted to be a think tank that plays a strategic role in analyzing main challenges and formulating priority policy recommendations for the development of a sustainable shrimp industry in Indonesia.
The Indonesia Shrimp Forum establishment is officially announced at January 1, 2021, by stakeholders from various instances, including; Shrimp Club Indonesia (SCI), Indonesian feed mills association (Gabungan Perusahaan Pakan dan Ternak – GPMT), Indonesian fishery producers processing and marketing association (Asosiasi Pengusaha Pengolahan dan Pemasaran Produk Perikanan Indonesia – AP5I), Yayasan SustainAqua Indonesia (YSAI), hatchery association, and academicians.
